Blaster Breakdown- 2015 Sage Hit Low Series! 4 Auto's Per Box!

Our first Blaster Breakdown of the 2015 season is Sage Hit Low Series! Available at retail stores such as Wal-Mart and Target, 2015 Sage Hit Low Series features 12 packs of 4 cards, and an additional clear plastic wrap pack with 4 autographed cards.

The Wax packs are designed to feel like a pack from the 90's or even before. The cards are color on the front, black and cardboard for white on the back. It's a very nice throwback feel.

All the cards inside are randomly inserted, so there is no guarantee in what would be per pack. Our box run ran like this:

34 Base cards
11 Next Level base cards
3 Artistry Insert Cards
4 autographs (2 red bordered silver tape, 1 red border gold tape, 1 black border gold tape)

Overall, I think the product looks great! Not much of a resell value, Hit never produces that, but it's a nice little boost towards the collection, and seeing the rookies of 2015 on cards is always a nice thing before the draft. Sage stepped up to the next level with this set, collectors should dig it, retail and hobby alike.

    Notable Players we pulled:

Looking Into- 2015 Hit Low Series

Hit Low series hits stores with a box about the size of a blaster box and featuring 10 autographs per box. Open the box, you'll find 5 packs, all clear wrapped, with the hits in the middle pack, Write Stuff insert's and the 10 autos.

Overall, it's a much better looking product then what we're accustomed to seeing from Sage over the past few years. I like the photoshopped uniforms to actually show the players in action as opposed to all workout pictures. The general design of it is a throwback to the older cards with the cardboard.

I personally haven't opened a box of these yet, but check out the video below of someone who did.

Looking into- 2015 Leaf Draft Metal

Leaf Draft Metal is a beautiful product for collectors. While it's high end competitor right now it 2015 Upper Deck Inscriptions, Leaf is offering much more of a variety of cards in the box, with insert sets, parallels, and a lot of chances to pull 1 of 1's.

As a reminder to our readers, Leaf Metal Draft features 4 cards per box, as many as 3 parallels per box, and all numbered low. Inserts are randomly inserted, and all cards are on card autos. No tape or stickers.

I really like the design of these cards better then Upper Deck Inscriptions. The simple design is catchy, and then the inserts make it very addicting to collect. Again, I have not pulled a box of these cards, I am looking at the boxes being opened on You-Tube, and pulling price ideas from eBay.

The base set is 73 cards, with a focus more on offense then on defense. However, the inserts aren't filled with junk players either, they have a lot of good cards, and they sell better then the base. Re-sellers would probably be okay with buying a case to resell and get most of it back because of the Winston/Mariota cards and the inserts.

A beautiful set indeed, Leaf Metal is the perfect set Leaf needed to open up the 2015 season with a bang.

    Pictures are below.

Looking into- 2015 Upper Deck Inscriptions Football

I have yet to break a box of this stuff, I'm not sure I will. It looks like it would have been a fabulous product back 5 to 10 years ago, but nowadays, that $140 price tag probably isn't worth it unless a great card is pulled.

I checked out You-Tube to see what kind of breaks the boxes hold. The cards are all beautiful. Hand signed autos, no stickers, the design is simple but very nice. It's a likable set, and can probably be addicting for some set builders.

From the box breaks I saw online, going to use this one from Cards Infinity, it's not worth buying unless you pull an early top rookie and sell it quick, such as Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota, Amari Cooper, etc. However, pulling players such as those are rare because of the size of the set (99 cards).

Boxes are on sale from Upper Deck retailers for about $140, though some other places are selling them for as low as $129.99. Not anything that I've seen any lower then that. Chances are you're not going to pull a great rookie from the box, and you're going to end up loosing $100 or so. Don't buy this product if you're looking to re-sell.

However, if you're looking to collect, grab it. It's a beautiful set design, and it looks amazingly great for any collector who loves on card auto's to be put into their collection.

2015 Panini Contenders Draft Picks- Coming April 22nd!!!

Panini has released details to their first set of the 2015 season, Panini Contenders Draft Picks 2015. Panini seems to be taking advantage of the popularity of the Contenders set, and now releasing a draft edition.

Panini has agreed to terms with the NCAA to use all the logo's and such, with a near exclusive deal that will allow them to feature the players in their college uniforms. As usual, autographs are the thing, featuring 6 per hobby box, along with 48 different parallels and inserts.

Instead of "Playoff Ticket" or "Season Ticket", cards will feature "College Ticket", "Bowl Ticket", "Playoff Ticket", "Cracked Ice Ticket", "Championship Ticket" and Panini says more. Current NFL players will also appear, in college uniform, in "Alumni Ink" and "Old School Colors". Several NFL players are featured in this set, such as Tom Brady, Tony Romo, Drew Brees, Rob Gronkowski, Peyton Manning, and more.

Box configuration is 6 cards per pack, 24 packs per box, 12 boxes per case.
